I have a motherboard with 3 Slots for ram.
Currently I have a stick of 512 and 2 256 for One gig totalof Hyper X.

I wanto to go up to 2-2.5 gigs.

I have about $200.00 to buy more. Should I buy:

and ditch the HyperX (actually sell it).If I bought the XMS do you think it would play well if I kept the stick of 512 HyperX and used them together?

Do you know your timings on your 3 sticks of ram? If you combine sticks, they will revert to the slowest speed of ram. As long as the ram you have is using similar timings, you should be ok using the XMS with the HyperX.

You're board only has 3 slots? What is the board - and will it accept DDR400 Ram? Obviously you won't be able to run dual channel ram.

The HyperX is 2-3-2-6

I have a Socket 754 A64 3200+ so Dual Channel is out for me anyways.

My board is a Asus K8VSE Deluxe that I got with the $179.00 deal with AMD a while back.

Either buy 2 X 512MB sticks or a single 1GB stick preferably of the same speed as the hyperX and dump the 2X256's. This should give you at least 1.5GB If you want to go to 2.GB you can do so only if you decide to go with a 1GB stick. With this route you can go as high as 2.5GB. Beware, though, 2.0 is usually the max recognized by some mobo or worse yet even Win XP. Research your mobo manual to make sure the bios does not limit you to 1.5GB in ram.
