RAM dilemma, please help!

Hi,

I'm in the process of building myself a new comp (i.e., buying parts when I have the cash 😛) and I finally saved enough to order the final piece in the puzzle, two sticks of 256MB PC1066 RDRAM from Mushkin. But the only thing is, it went on back-order yesterday!

So now, I'm not sure if I should wait for Mushkin to restock, or buy it elsewhere. I know Mushkin Rambus RAM is just Kingston, but I've always heard that it is of the utmost quality. So, do you think I should wait and get it from Mushkin, or else order it from somewhere else? If so, any ideas as to where? (Keeping in mind that they have to be able to ship to Canada).

*sigh* I know, I know, patience is a virtue... maybe I should just wait.

Anyways, thanks in advance!

GamePC has 256MB Kingston PC1066 in stock. They cost $1 more than that Mushkin's price ($190 US as opposed to $189), and shipping would be roughly the same.

Now, I know Mushkin has their "Lifetime Warranty", whereas who knows what GamePC offers. Anyways, I emailed Mushkin this morning (no reply yet) and I may call them at lunch, but suppose they wouldn't be restocking for quite some time (I seem to recall Mushkin having PC1066 128MB on back-order for a couple weeks, at least); do you think the Kingston from GamePC would be a worthwhile substitute?

Well, I just talked to a Mushkin rep and he didn't sound too optimistic about restocking any time soon. He said to call back next week, midweek, and inquire then.

But I'm way too excited for my new comp and too impatient as well so unless someone has something really bad to say about the Kingston or GamePC, I'll probably order that when I get back from lunch.

Thanks for your time (and putting up with me constantly bumping this topic 😱)
