Well RAM prices (especially pc133) went up today (Nov. 9.) by an average of $6 US Dollars.
Micron and Samsung are the main culprits.
They are charging $0.25 extra per chip now.

Do you think that ram prices (ESPECIALLY DDR) prices well fall by christmas time?

Thing is they have been selling below cost these days, so in a way you don't think they will drop.
But with infenion and hitachi etc. all closing there ram factories, do you think if this continues they'll open again?

Anyways, I plan to buy ddr memory around christmas time, but if it's going to keep going up I might as well buy it now, or off some guy on Ebay.

What do you think?

I just bought a 256mb PC2100 stick from Crucial today. The prices haven't went up at Crucial yet, since I paid $31.59 (price with tax included). They still have 2nd day free shipping, and if you buy through this site, Anandtech, you can save 16%. Just hit the crucial topic above in this General Hardware Forum (it should be the 2nd one from the top).

This is an opinion thread, you know, what's your opinion kinda thing. Not like the other thread which just states the obvious.
