I have a A7n8x-e deluxe and I have 2 sticks of 256. On the mobo there are 3 slots, 2 close together and a third a little ways away. Does it matter where I install the 2 sticks?
 
yes and no, yes it does matter, you should consult the documentation that came with the mobo and slip the ram into the first memory slots. a mobo with 4 slots will read it as =

memory slot 0
memory slot 1 256
memory slot 2 256
memory slot 3

its a good ideato have them in slot 0 and 1. why i say it doesnt matter? if you have the sticks slapped in anywhere, your pc should still boot up and run without a problem. hit asus's website and research it or hit up a search engine!
