RAM Compatible???

Okay here is the dilema.... I bought a stick of 128MB Generic RAM a while back from 1st Choice Memory. It said that this RAM could not be used with an Athlon cause it wasnt compatible. I decided to get an AMD Duron and i was just wondering. I know that the Duron is based on the Athlon core and i was just wondering if this ram will work with my next setup.... just until i buy my 256 PC133

odds are that they said that just to protect themselves, since some Athlon motherboards are very picky with ram. it will most likely work, but ya gotta try.

Exactly...the KX/KV133 chipset is a real bitch with ram. Half the time it works, half the time it doesn't. Go ahead and try it out, and see if it works. I've heard that the main problem with the chipset is that it rejects ram when you are using two sticks of different brands. W/one stick, even if it is generic, I don't think that you should have problem.
