RAM Compatibility with MOBO Question

I have recently bought these two items on newegg.

Problem: I accidentally bought the DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800). The MOBO support DDR3 800, DDR3 10666, and DDR3 1333 RAM. The MOBO also support DDR3 1600 (O.C)/ 1333. My question is will the OCZ DDR3 1600(pc3 12800) work with this MOBO? What would be the worst case scenario if I insert to Ram into the MOBO if it is not compatible with this MOBO? Will it frys all of my computer component? I was thinking I may have to order the G. Skill DDR3 13333 (PC3 10666) to be on the safe side.

That ram will be fine in that mobo.

The worst case scenario is that you have become so electrically charged wearing your fuzzy slippers on your shag carpet the minute you touch your computer it will explode.

No seriously it will be fine. Your mobo supports ddr3 1600 you'll just have to overclock your ram to get it to run at that speed. It will default to 1333 speed but it is perfectly fine to run at 1333. In fact seeing as your handle is low tech I doubt you would even need your ram to run at 1600. So build your rig and enjoy.

Thank you a lot OILFIELDTRASH. I will test it out today. Can someone explain to me what does this really mean? DDR3 1600 (O.C)/ 1333? Does it mean DDR3 1600 Overclocked? Or overclocking DDR3 1333 DIMM into a DDR3 1600?

It just means your mobo will set any ram faster than 1333mhz to run at 1333mhz. Say you put 1600mhz ram in your mobo. Your ram can run up to 1600mhz but the mobo can only see it as 1333. The mobo will run your 1600 ram to run at 1333mhz. If you want to run your 1600 ram up to its full potential(1600) you will have to overclock your computer so your ram will run at the 1600mhz. For now 1333mhz should be plenty fast along with that i7 processor.

This. Your mobo may have an 'auto tweak' setting or similar that sets the ram automatically to 1600mhz as defined by it's internal SPD. As far as I know, there is no 'official' JDEC speed of 1600mhz, so every vendor will guarantee 1333mhz but really, memory can run alot higher.

a addition to LOWTECHs question, Im in the same situation as he is instead ive got an ASUS P6T deluxe V2 mobo and (3*2Gb) Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz RAM, I wanted to know whether the voltage will remain the same when the Ram is running at 1333Mhz or will it lower. ( it says it runs at 1.65V)
