I've done a few searches on this site and Tom's, but can't find a sufficient answer, so i thought I'd post it here.

I am putting together a new computer and need some advice on RAM. Here are the parts I have with me so far:

CASE ASPIRE| XNAVIGTOR BK/BK 450W
CPU AMD 64 |3200+ ATHLON 939P
DDRAM 1GB PC2100 DDR266
HD 200GB|MAXTOR 6B200M0 SATA
KB&MS LOGITECH|CRDLS DSKTP LX500 RT
DVD+/-RW LITEON SOHW-1673S BLK RT
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe nForce4

Being pretty new to putting together computers, I accidentally ordered the DDRAM 1GB PC2100 DDR266, instead of one with a faster speed. I am kicking myself in the head right now!

So here are my questions:

1) Would it be better for me to suck up my losses and return the RAM to Newegg (eatin the 15% stocking fees) and get another stick, or should I keep what I have?

2) If I upgrade later to another stick of RAM, am I limited to buying one that's also 266mhz? Or will I notice a difference if my second stick is 333mhz?

I am going to use my computer for a lot of graphic design work. Photoshop, Maya, Video editing, etc.

Thanks everyone!

1) definitly return that, the it will be a huge bottleneck, the 15% fee is minor compared to what you will lose.

2) see 1)

If u are not going to overclock (hard) you should exhange those sticks and buy two sticks of each 512 MB > PC3200 (400mhz) memory
