RAM At Newegg: Where Did It All Go?

Perhaps I'm entirely off-base about this, but is it me or is Newegg carrying very little RAM these days?

http://www.newegg.com/Desktop-Memory/SubCategory/ID-147

If you look in the desktop section they only have 2 4GB sticks and 1 8GB stick listed, and even the kits aren't great. 2x8GB for example is 8 G.Skill kits, 2 Patriot, and 3 Corsair.

http://www.newegg.com/Laptop-Memory/SubCategory/ID-381

If you look at SO-DIMMs it's even worse. They only have a single 2x4GB kit.

So where did all the RAM go? I haven't been looking at RAM for a while, but I could swear they carried a much bigger selection than this.

Um, what?

I'm not seeing what you're describing..
From your link: Showing 1-20 of 1172 Products

Going into the additional subcategory: Speed : DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Results in: (1-20 of 387 Results)

Are you sure you aren't looking at DDR2 by mistake?

They had 8GB of Samsung low-voltage DDR3-1600 for like $31 after coupon code earlier in the week. Quality/good prices beats quantity/bad prices, imho.

I'm sure I'm not looking at DDR2 (that was the first thing I made sure of).

Something is wrong with their search function right now. For instance, see my response to DarkRogue below and good luck trying to find it via search engine.

If only Samsung had those in 8GB sticks. :(

It seems newegg's search function is screwed up right now for RAM, as it won't return nearly as many results as it should.

Aha, you're right. I just went over to the video card category; they only have EVGA and MSI video cards listed for the GeForce 600 series.

At any rate it's good to know it's just a bug. For a moment there I was worried that Newegg was significantly reducing their inventory.

I noticed it earlier. I think newegg could be messing around with their databases, perhaps converting them from one format to another behind the scenes.

That is a weird bug.. I can't say I've experienced that, though I don't browse Newegg all the time either.

blastingcap, thanks for the link.. looks good, but wow it's quite expensive.
When did this kit come out? I remember asking about 8GB sticks a while back and no one knew, so I went with the Corsair 1.5v kit.

It looks like things are back to normal. For example, last night, if you looked at newegg's AMD cpu list, only Trinity and Vishera were found. This morning, all of their CPUs are displayed, including Zambezi, LLano, and the Phenom II series.
