I've been thinking about upgrading everything lately for my gaming PC but I have not been keeping up with computer stuff since I built my it 1.5 years ago. I'm thinking another gig of ram but I remember something about not mixing RAM with old RAM and company with company or something like that. what should I look at in terms of upgrading for this computer?

Start off with a faster video card. And you can mix RAM, even when overclocking, as long as both types of RAM have the same IC. If your TwinMOS is the BH-5 TwinMOS, you can add any BH-5, for example. If you aren't overclocking, you can add RAM with any IC, though you'll have to set the BIOS to use the slower RAM's timings.

If you mix ram, you will probably disable any dual channel functionality. I also tried to use a single sided ram, with dual sided ram of the same brand and specs, but my machine would not boot with it installed.

I have no idea if they are BH-5 chips so would you suggest dropping them bost and buying 2 new kits? also what is better, 4 512mb sticks or 2 1 gig sticks?
