RAM and XP Pro 32 Bit

Does anyone know how much RAM XP Pro will recognized and use? Also what happens if one has more RAM installed than XP Pro uses?

I believe xp pro (32bit) sees max 3.25gb of memory. If you have more then that installed then your bios will see it most likely but xp won't. If you have more then that though go here.

4gig, usable may be less due to address space issues (such as the PCI hole). If you have more, it goes unused.

Thank you very much. I am building a new system and am not ready to install Vista at this point but want to be ready in the future. To that end I am considering 2 x 2 gig sticks of Mushkin DDR2 memory,

I like the timings and it is on the AVL for the ASUS Striker. I will study the PAE Support further biut may just end up letting the 1 gig go unused as it dosen't appear to do any damage. Thanks again, JV
