RAM and ramdrive

I tried to play around with ramdrive (found some old papers when 4 Mb was a very biiig memory size). For my dissapointment I found out that I cant create bigger drive than 32000kb. But I can make several of them. I have 128 Mb of RAM. WHY does it do this??

Another question is next:
Cacheman sais I have ca. 40Mb physical Ram free but 50Mb used swap file. Why it uses slower swap file instead of RAM??
