RAM and laptops and desktops

is there a difference between the RAM used on desktops and the RAM used on laptops? ie... can you switch them?

No. Laptops use SODIMMS, or Small Outline Dual In-line Memory Module. These are not interchangeable between laptop and desktop systems. (Unless I am not aware of a change in this regard)

they are different. i think laptops are like 200pin SODIMMs or something. and Desktops are different number of pins. the laptop ram is small in physical size too compared to desktop ram. not meaning MBs. physical as in inches.
