ram analyzing utility, how do i know what brand chips i have

i have 2 sticks of pdp systems pc3200. there is a heatspreader though.

does anyone know of a utlility that can tell me what type of chips are under there . i dont think removing the heatspreaders would be such a wise idea.

You might try CPU-z....it does give info about the RAM (manufacturer) but doesn't work with all 3 of my sticks.

It will be very hard to tell about the chips on a module unless the info is printed on top - heatspreader shouldn't be that hard to remove. That's one reason I'm going to avoid Kingston Value RAM from now on (not to mention the reliability problems I've had with them) and buy from companies that aren't ashamed to let their customers know of the chips they are using.

I've never had a problem with Kingston Value RAM.

yeah i tried cpu-z but it wont let me see the brand.

the sticks i'm using are pdp systems pc3200 512mb x 2 kit, timings are supposed to be 2-3-2-5-1t

but the board i'm getting doesnt allow changing the voltage from 2.5 v, when these sticks require 2.6
