Rakuten.com used to be buy.com they used to have a lot of issues as a seller.

They are better as rakuten and I know as I am a power buyer from them. I do a lot of custom builds for miners. This is one account I have. I earn a lot of points back from them. I have cashed in 420,000 points back from them. 4k+

I don't trust these people.

See here for much more details:

This is the latest complaint, and is from 4/28/14:

"Add me into the list. somebody hacked my account and made the change to the email address. I was notified by a CC company on a large transaction. I hate the way Rakuten addressed the issue. They shut down my account with some points leftover and simply told me to create a new one. Sorry but I would not shop here again. "

I don't like to post rakuten deals here

Basically someone always does what you do post warnings. So I can only say do not do the non-secure search I show below. I can also ask why does that happen on many websites. I listed about a half dozen sites I have seen that warning. I ignored it a few times years ago and did get burned.

I never do that type of search and my credit card fraud issues have stopped last one happened about 1 week after Hurricane Sandy

I don't trust these people.

I had issues in the past with the two online merchants

Tiger Direct
Buy . com aka raktuen .com

were both pretty hard to do business with.

Since buy.com became raktuten.com I have had better service.

also tiger direct has improved.

The stolen cc happens due to users doing nonsecure searches

I can show why they happen.

here is the i7 I ordered today.

I am signed into the order page.
I did a search and clicked go.
I got a warning. Non secure search.
that is the issue plain and simple.
Do that search you may get screwed.

This issue is on more then one website.
It comes and goes.
If you see this on any website don't do the search.

I have no idea why hundreds of websites have this occur, but :
LLBean
Lands End
Overstock . com
Tiger Direct.com
Buy.com
Rakuten.com
Dell.com
Sears.com

have all done this to me at one time or another.

If you do the search you get f'd. If you do not do the search nothing happens.
