Is RakeSearch stable enough of a project during Stress Testing????

Congrats on your 1M Rakesearch milestone in just..... 2 days.
In less than 22 hours, actually.
Wait, are you the one called "new user" on Rakesearch challenge stats?
I am apparently listed as New user of the team New user at this time. There were a few more New user earlier, but I am the last one now.

Edit,
the chart switched to my proper username in the meantime.

About the project timeline:
  • RakeSearch was initiated in September 2017, right?
  • By the end of February 2018, 10 % of the workunits space was complete.
  • At the end of November 2017, the optimized applications were posted which improved performance ten-fold. This makes it likely that the majority of those 10 % of the WU space was done in the three months of Dec/ Jan/ Feb.
Extrapolating from that, the project would be completed in about 2 years if it remained as popular as it is now (and if WU sizes didn't shift over time). Unless they set their sights on new scientific goals by then.

Currently showing at stats.free-dc:

Rakesearch - TeAm AnandTech Overview
Last Checked : Sun Apr 22, 01:30:09 2018 BST
Data Updated : Sat Apr 21, 17:46:02 2018 BST
Current Time: Sun Apr 22, 10:18:10 2018 BST

The data which free-dc fetched on Saturday, and is now showing as Saturday's credits, are actually from Friday. IOW the way how RakeSearch places its daily stats export, and how free-dc downloads the export, causes free-dc's dates to be off by one.

I went to my Rake account, to see how many tasks were pending (relatively few).

But the reason for this post is because of the badges this project awards. I noticed a new badge, and it was not characteristic of the other badges (all native animals, of increasing size, found in the vicinity of the server).

EDIT: the server is currently down, so my pic isn't showing, it's a Dandelion flower.//end edit Kinda weird, eh? :D This badge however is not for how many points I have, instead it says "ODLS pairs found in April 2018!" Wow, every month you can get a new flower of the month badge, in a few years, those with badge signatures are going to look rather pretty. ;)

"critter" badges are point milestones
flower badges have been awarded monthly for finding an amicable pair in that month

Uh oh. It all went pretty well during the past few days, but now:

504 Gateway Time-Out

Sun 22 Apr 2018 10:29:44 PM CEST | Rake search of diagonal Latin squares | Temporarily failed upload of abc123xyz: transient HTTP error

--------
Works again now though. I guess everybody is in a hurry now to upload before UTC 00:00.

--------
Edit,
and the upload failures continue.

RakeSearch could become a Formula Boinc sprint project, or worse, a Pentathlon project. I hope that neither happens, because their project server is not likely to keep up with either.

From all appearances, this 7 day "stress" test was far lighter on the project than an FB sprint would be, let alone a Pentathlon sub race.

I hope for the project's sake that Gridcoin won't whitelist them. That's not just from considering the last few hours of unresponsiveness, but more so about the rather slow rate of task generation on all the past days.

Edit,
and regarding inclusion into DC-Vault: The project should IMO not be promoted by DC-Vault as long as they keep their wasteful stock application which is 10 times slower than the 3rd party anonymous platform applications.

Congrats TeAm! We win this challenge by some margin.

At first I didn't think that we could leapfrog l'AF and BOINC@Poland as they had close battle in marathon but, as usual, you guys proved me wrong.

And also, in the last 12 hours there were some activity surge that made Rakesearch server less responsive. I hope [H]Coleslaw would take this into consideration.

Keep in mind that POGS didn't finish the optimized apps and the GPU apps at their project because they could barely keep people fed with work as-is. So, technically they also continue to waste your resources. At least Rakesearch hasn't banned you from running a custom client like POGS did. POGS is in the DC-Vault. Just food for thought.

Then I would encourage you to take that voice to the forums so that it could be heard by those that watch the DC-Vault. Never too late to pull a project. However, if what Sam says is true, they may be closing the project in the near future anyways. So, problem will solve itself.

@Ken g6, thanks for copying my thoughts about RakeSearch's stress resilience and the application performance issue to the Team Ninja BB. I'm lazy about creating lots of one-off accounts all over the net.
