I know P&N is the red-headed stepchild of the AT forums, and in many cases, deservedly so. And while many, if not most, members quickly fall into the trap of name calling, yelling, trolling, flame-baiting, etc, Rainsford manages to keep his head above the noise and consistently remain a strong voice of civil reason. He may disagree with you, but he does so with tact, logic, and supporting facts.

He stays true to his political beliefs (which, admittedly, differ from mine,) but not on the basis of blind faith, but rather on the basis of common sense and logic. He is not a party sheep and will stand up and admonish any politician that behaves in any unethical manner, regardless of political affilliation.

For managing to remain a sane, and calm regular in the mudslinging pit of P&N, I believe that Rainsford is deserving of special recognition. He is to P&N what RossMAN is to Hot Deals, what drag is to OS, what Eaglekeeper is to tax advice. A true gentleman of his field.

Rainsford is a solid poster. I don't always agree with him, but I generally respect him and his well-thought-out opinions.

I second cKGunslinger's nomination to make Rainsford elite.
cK's analysis is sincere and accurate.

Unfortunately for Rainsford, cKGunslinger's nomination taints the request. He doesn't always think about what is best for the forums.
I am not saying that applies to Rainsford. I don't frequent P&N so I don't know him.

Of course, disagreeing with you on occasion makes me tainted.

Maybe this nomination is wrong, given that being elite is pretty meaningless, judging by the attitude of some elite members. I assume not all of them are are high-horse riding know-it-alls. Vic, for example is a good illustration of an elite member. Red Dawn, as well.

I just feel that elite members should be the ones who focus on adding quality contributions to discussions, not ones that whine endlessly about the state of OT posts and brag about their "lists"

But please, don't let your attitude (or mine) drag down this thread. Rainsford is a stand-up guy who adds to the forum, not distracts from it.

Agreed, though I'm far from sure that posting in P&N should ever be the basis for making someone elite -- not that being or not being made elite amounts to a hill of beans anyway.

What Perk said. Elite IMO is for posters in the hardware/software areas of the forums, not the sideshows we call OT and P&N.

Ok, I don't really know what elite is for. I just assumed it was for "model poster" or "not a complete asshat" or something.

Perhaps a simple custom title like "P&N Survivor" or "P&N Babysitter"? ;)

Please show me where I bragged about a list. Or are we just supposed to take your word for it?
