Just got my new tbird setup and while I was waiting for my mc462 to show up I thought I would play around with it a bit and not fry it. Well anyway using a volcano II, I noticed very little variance on the chip temp. From the coolest at 38c and hottest at 48c. I have been using rain 2.0 for quite a while for lowering the idle temps on my previous p3s one oc to 620 the other oc'ed to 945. Playing around tonight I disabled rain and the temp dropped all the way to 24c. Is this the case with the tbirds? Is rain no longer required? CPU usage is at a steady 90% while I am typing right now and nothing els going on. Any of you super geeks know whats going on?

Rain does NOT work on Athlon or Duron processers! For me all its done is increase temperatures, dont use it. CPUIdle is supposed to work with Athlon/Duron processers, but I havent really had a chance to test that yet but I should be able to by the end of the week. There is also some editing you can do with the motherboard registers to automatically drop temperatures.
