My old man has been working on this for some time and they just announced the product launch over the weekend.

The idea is a quick and easy way to hang up pots/planters/benches.

Give it a look and let any family/friends know about it that you might think is interested.

I emailed moderator@anandtech.com about a month ago asking if this is ok. I never got a response. If its inappropriate let me know and I'll remove this post.

Pretty sure its spam, but nonetheless.

It seems like an interesting product, mainly for the fact that you don't need to make holes in your deck. How would something like that hold up in 30 mph winds?

(You can put self promoting links in your sig, no rules against that)

Pretty good idea, seems simple enough.

You should have him pitch it on that show "Shark's Tank". They get pitches from business in all different stages.

Well, it IS offered for the Billy Mays-approved price of $19.95.

But unfortunately, they don't double the offer if you call right now.

I want a free LED clip-on book light and portable vacuum cleaner included as well or no deal

The site has undergone a little reconstruction with some minor tweaks. Big thing is that the Handling fee has been dropped and its now just the 8.95 shipping:

2 Rail Rockits

Thrown in with the deal for free:
2 Pot Extenders
8 Universal Adapters
Plans for a planter box

19.95 + 8.95 shipping... I believe that NC is the only place that actually has to worry about sales tax. They are going to start moving on the local stores in the Asheville area and will be selling just 2 of the Rail Rockits for 19.95 without the other goodies thrown in.

I do like the improvements dad has made on the website. It still looks a little.... incomplete?

That's a good product. i don't know if I'd buy it, though? Maybe a test unit? :)

Congrats to your dad.

The audio in the video is incredibly annoying. I don't know how much your dad paid for that ad, but the VO needs to be recut. The speaker is too far from the microphone. You could tighten up some of the lines, too. It doesn't sound very professional.

Great idea and simple design.
I don't have a deck with rails though.

My only concern would be competitors making similar products.

I agree with the VO stuff. They had quite a few people read the lines and even had a professional pitch woman read them, but weren't really satisfied with any of them. The VO lady is his partner's (business not gay) sister so it was free at least. I'll let him know though :)
