Raiders hire USC offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin as head coach

Vick would certainly make games very fun to watch, and plus the Raiders have receivers who can (sort of) catch the ball..though rumors say they're giving up Moss AND Porter..

Add a Joe Thomas or Calvin Johnson to the mix and it could make for a fun year. Not necessarily a winning year, but fun nonetheless.

The problem is for all the years Vick has been in the leauge he is still a sub par passer.

Have you seen his games? Vick may not be the best passer in the league, but othe than Crumpler, none of his receivers can catch. Whether that's his own fault or not, the point remains.

That would make for an interesting starter/backup combo however, if the Raiders keep Andrew Walter and get Vick. You'd have the shortest, fastest QB in the NFL, as well as the tallest, least mobile QB in the NFL.

And by Calvin Johnson/joe Thomas, I mean a guy like Dwayne Jarrett/Ted Ginn, since they'd trade draft picks as well..

I hate the Raiders and USC is my fav college team. I hate to see Kiffin to go the Raiders and ruin his career. I just hope someone gives him a second chance, because nobody can succeed there with that demented owner and terrible group of players.

I hate USC, but I respect them in every way. I cannot say the same about the Raiders. Poor organization.
What a waste.

At least they didn't recycle the coach (Art Shell) and get a guy that ran a bed & breakfast as their offensive coordinator (Tom Walsh).

LOFL. Pete Carrol (the USC HEAD coach) wasn't good enough for the NFL. So this basically solidifies at least another 3 years of Oakland bottom dwelling...

From what I've read from USC fans, they are not particularly enamored of Kiffin anyway, believing that Sarkisian is the braintrust of the USC offensive coaching staff. I suspect Sarkisian will take the OC reins this year, and USC will be back in the title game next season.

carroll was only given 1 year with the awful Jets and he went 6-10. the year after he was replaced and they didn't do any better. his first year with the patriots they went 10-6 and got to the 2nd round of the playoffs. his second year they were 9-7 and made the playoffs again. his last year they did awful, but to say he "wasn't good enough" is just stupid.

now as for my raiders...they can't really do much worse so good luck, lol
