Raided Hard Drives

I have a set of 2 hard drives mirrored using NTFS in windows server 2003
If i transfer those to say a windows xp machine and only 1 drive will i be able to read the data on the drive at all?

If you want the drives readable as a pair you will need the same or identical controller in the new system.

If you move one drive of the mirrored pair to another system you should be able to read the contents without issue.

If you move a RAID array of any kind to another PC you have by far the best chance of success if it uses the same RAID controller and RAID 1 or 0+1 does stand the best chance of making the transition intact... I also got lucky once moving a 0+1 array from an on-board Nvidia controller on an NForce 3 to a Promise TX4-150 PCI controller on an NForce 4 motherboard, but I wouldn't suggest this.
