RAID1 Setup on ABIT KX7-333R

I am trying to setup RAID1 with the ABIT KX7-333 MB. I have never setup RAID before, so I am a little confused.

I have two identical WD 40GB hard drives. I have them both on the same IDE cable. The one at the end of the cable is jumpered as master. The one in the middle of the cable is jumpered as slave. The IDE cable is plugged into IDE3 on the MB.

I set the bios boot order so that all three boot devices are on "ATA133RAID". I pressed <CTRL> <H> to go into setup. I created a RAID1 setup. I rebooted and changed the bios boot order so that 1st boot device is cdrom, which is plugged into IDE1 on the MB.

I entered windows setup via a bootable windows 2000 disk. Windows setup says that it cannot find any hard disk drives installed on the computer.

I am not sure what to do.

If someone can explain what I am doing wrong I would really appreciate it.

Thank You
