Raid1, moving drives around on the controller

i have a raid1 array on ICH9R controller. (ports 2, 3)

the drive on port 2 keeps popping back errors. best as i can tell, it's the port's fault.

i want to move the drive to another port. what's involved with that? swapping ports on the mobo, then going into the raid config and setting up the array with the new port assignment?

will it force an array rebuild, or worse yet, an array reformat?

you know, i just realized this isnt a windows specific question. in fact, it isnt a software specific question.

i would have been far better served to put this in other hardware or computer help :/
