RAID0 setup - during windows install or after?

Hey guys, I'll be installing my first raid setup I've done personally. I have a completely brand new system I'm building from scratch and I will be installing Windows 10 for the first time.

My idea is just to get Windows up and running with the bare minimum so if there is any issues, I don't have to unplug a bunch of stuff and troubleshoot. Then once thats done, setup the RAID0.

Is this the way to go? Do I need to setup the raid during the windows install? Sorry for the dumb questions, I'm just trying to do everything right from the onset.

If you are wanting to setup your boot drives in RAID, you would need to do that before installing Windows.

OP, do you know what RAID0 is and how it will benefit your computer usage? While RAID0 has some performance benefits, there aren't many applicable scenarios, and it can have the opposite effect as well as the (at least) doubled risk of data loss.

The RAID-0 wouldnt' be for my boot drive, sorry.

My boot drive is a Samsung 840 evo 250gb. My performance drive for editing is a 950 Pro 512gb and the 2x2TB potential raid-0 would be for bulk storage and finished projects.

Why would you run RAID 0 on bulk storage? I'd be more concerned about reliability than speed for bulk storage.

As XavierMace said, I would never, ever, ever use a RAID 0 for bulk storage or anything I need critical access to. Do you mean RAID 1? That would make a lot more sense.

Admittedly video editing is not my thing, but isn't that a somewhat more CPU-intensive task than disk? Unless you're dealing with high-res, completely uncompressed video, at which point I'd go for an SSD.
