RAID0 and Single Disk on same controller?

Hello, everyone!

I have three hard drives. Two 500GB WD RE3 (RAID-0) and One WD SE16 250GB. The 250GB has Windows XP with all my files. I recently install Windows 7 on a RAID-0 configuration. Windows 7 does not detect the SE16, but the BIOS does.

Is there a way to have Windows 7 detect my 250GB HD?

Running on:
Biostar TA790GX A2+ (790GX/SB750)

Thanks,
Satsuki

[UPDATED]:
All three are SATA.
I believe I had disconnected the SE16 when installing in the RAID, not 100%.
I want Windows on both HD and I want to be able to transfer files from SE16 when booted into RAID.

Please confirm - the Re3s are SATA and the Se16 is PATA? That is what my research shows, and if so, they are not on the same controller

OK - check to see what is your chipset. Reason: Intel's IHCR Southbridge chipset won't allow you to use RAID and a single SATA drive very easily. A good solution is to add a an inexpensive RAID controller card to run your RAID array and keep your single SATA drive on the mobo port.

The confusion comes, especially with RAID 0, when the on board controller sees the added SATA drive as one that should be added to the array. If the RAID 0 is the boot drive, then adding aniother single SATA drive can cause it not to boot.

Another solution is get rid of the RAID 0 array. It really doersn't buy you anything significant except striping, which is risky in case of a drive failure.

Hey.

As stated above, I have a 790GX and SB750 chipset.

Buying a new cheap RAID controller seems like a good idea.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks

And when you say windows doesnt detect it do you mean it doesnt show up in explorer or its not detected by disk management?
