RAID using (2)5400rpm or just (1) WD Special Edition?

RAID using (2)5400rpm or just (1) WD Special Edition?

I just got my new Epox board with RAID and I'm wondering if I should bother using the RAID or just get a new WD Special Edition hdd?
I've never used or set up a RAID system.
Additional fact, I like to dual boot using linux, usually but not always RedHat.

If it matters what I do with the pc, I surf, program, email, some light gaming, yah I know, should have saved the money and got a Microtel PC With LindowsOS for $199.🙂

Edit: I'm making an effort to run a quiet system.

1 WD SE drive will be faster for daily tasks.

if you want quiet just use a cuda iv...
