raid setup on MSI 655Max board

Hi. I have the MSI 655 MAX motherboard and unable to make the RAID configuration to work
with 2 ATA drives. There are 2 connectors for SATA and one connector for Parallel ATA. Tried
to install my hard drives to the Parallel ATA and unable to make them work, either with
master/master or master/slave configurations. The manual is not very clear on the setup for
raid configuration. If you are able to setup the raid with this board, please let me know how
you did it. Thanks.

If its like all the other raids with both SATA and PATA on the same board, you have to use one PATA and one SATA to get the raid to work.

So you place the one disk on the PATA controller, and the other disk on one of the SATA controllers.
You will then need a PATA-SATA converter (some board delivers one with the package).

Then you should be able to choose the raid option and install...

That doesn't sound right. One serial and on parallel?
