Hello im a new user in this wonderfull and oced comunity, but if got a problem.
A few days ago my psu died, with mi vga, so yesterday I got a nice ATI rage and get started, but ive lost my Raid disk . So I installed win XP SP2 without the raid, downloaded the files from the dfi oficcial webpage, copied them to a floppy disk, and tried to install winsuck again, but after ive chosen the the files, when the screen telling me that im gonna install windows should appear, a BLUE SCREEN comes.....

What can I do?

Need more information to be of any help.. are you trying to do RAID 0, 1 or 5 for starters?

oops ive forgot that, RAID 0,

a..an the error is: 0x0000007B, ive searched in google and, yes is a HDD or RAID or SCCI problem...but ive couldnt find an answer....

Hi,

The 0x0007B error is normally "inaccessible_boot_device" error where windows can't find the partition with your OS.

Your post confuses me a lot, as I can't work out what you are saying you have done??

If you are booting from a RAID0 drive, then normally on the nForce4 chipset boards you would need to install the nForce RAID drivers at F6 during Windows installation and if you haven't and are now trying to add a disc to your boot drive to create a RAID0 array then this is complex.

But as I say I can't work out what you are saying you have done?

Are you building a new set-up from old bits and therefore installing new windows, as your post says you replaced VGA card and PSU, so I can't see why you are doing anything with windows installation?

Sorry if I am asking stupid question, but I have a different MB and have never heard of "winsuck", what does this do?

My best guess would be that whatever you have done (by adding second drive back?) has confused windows and it now can't find your boot sector?

Let me make it clearer:
ive repleacde the psu and vga, but cause i wasnt shure what was the problem I reset the bios, deleting the raid, so I should rebuild it.

when I install windows, press F6, every thing works, but when the "Youre going to install windows" screen should appear, a BSOD appears, with the error 0x0000007B

RAID 0 is somtimes very picky about installing, I've had almost the exact same thing happen to me & the solution was to return my HD's to as close to new condition as possible by "zero-filling" them with a program like "Wipe-drive" & starting fresh... it seems like any trace of the old array is what cause's the problem.

Also note, that to the best of my knowledge its not possible to convert your XP install to RAID 0, only RAID 1 is somthing you can add later, so you have no choice about the re-install.

If you have a copy of a program called "Wipe-drive" which comes on a bootable CD, you can just throw it in, boot from the CD & overwrite the hd's following the easy steps. Otherwise depending what brand drive you have, you may already have a zero-filling utility on the setup CD/floppy that came with it, or you should be able to download one from them for free.

Once the zero-fill is complete, you will need to re-create the RAID 0 array in the NForce 4's RAID setup menu, than after its created you format the drive from within XP setup... btw you'll need to have the RAID drivers loaded onto a floppy-disk before you start, then when you first boot from the XP CD to re-install Windows, press F6 when prompted & follow the steps to load the RAID driver.
