Raid question

In my computer i currently have the kk266-r motherboard. I have my cd burner and cdrom hooked up to one IDE plug and my 40 gig hard drive on the other. eventually i would like to set up raid with a couple hard drives, but not right now. i was told, though, that i could hook up my CD rom drive to one of the Raid IDE plugs and use it that way. how do i do this or is it even possible?

There's probably a jumper somewhere on the board that disables/enables the RAID function for the two extra IDE channels. Just make sure that RAID is disabled and it should work just like any other IDE connection.
