Raid Question?????????????

Well I've just become intersted in using Raid and my current system specs are:

Asus a7a266 Mobo
512 pc133 Ram/this Mobo is both pc133 capable and DDR 2100 Capable. For now i'm using pc133.
Antec Dragon Server Case
30 Gig Maxtor Drive (5400 Rpm)
Athlon Thunderbird 900 mhz(upgrading to an xp processor soon)
Gainward Geforce 2 mx/400 32mb(upgrading to geforce 3 ti200)
Acer 24/10/40 Cd Writer


My question is whether or not can i have this computer raid capable, what is it that i have to buy, do i have to buy a raid card, and if i do where do i go from there, main reason being i just wanted to add another harddrive to my computer maybe a 80.00 gig harddrive thus making my computer 110 gig................I don't know if i'm right what it comes to questions about raid i don't really know much about it?

No. That would make you're total HDD space 60gig. They have to be identical in size. If they aren't it will make the larger HDD the size of the smallest. Yes, you will have to buy a RAID controller for such a thing, but it would be cheaper to buy a motherboard with built-in RAID. On the sizing, it goes the same for the RPM of the HDD's. i.e. One is 5400RPM, and one is 7200RPM. When put in a RAID configuration they will both be considered 5400's.
