Raid question.

I am a raid newbie even though I've heard/read alot about it. My system will very soon consist of a dual socket 370 with P3 700(2) with Raid ata 100 from MSI. My hard drives will be 1 40G WD 7200 ata 100 and 2 30G WD drive with the exact same spec above. My question is whats the best way to configure these drives? If I do raid, how should I set up the OS and swap partitions? If it helps, my system has 512mb ram. Also, what are some raid boot up problems I should watch out for, thanks.

I've got raid-0 on an Asus A7V133 using a pair of 30GB Maxtors. I also have an IBM 45GB that I plan to use as a backup drive. I'm still researching different kinds of software to find out which one is the best for imaging raid-0 to a single hard drive.

I'm not familiar with your board but I didn't have any problems at all with setup or anything else (using Win98).

Your mobo manual should explain all the details and give step by step instructions to install and configure your hard drives.

You might want to do a forum search for "raid" and/or "Win2k". Seems like there some issues with Win2k.
