Raid Question

This might be a stupid question, however I am not sure of the answer so I will ask.

Can you use a PCI raid controller card without raiding drives.

Basically use it as a IDE controller. So say i have 4 channel raid controller.

Is it possible to put one drive on there without any issues?

Most of them will let you do both (the onboard one on my motherboard, for instance, can be switched in the BIOS). I'd check the manufacturer's website to be sure first, though.
