i asked this question a couple months ago, no one had any breakthru ideas, so i thought i'd run it past again, as the situation has changed, but stayed the same...
i had a kg7raid board, and a pair of deskstar 41g drives. when i did the highpoint raid 0 deal with them, the second drive in line always came up at ata33, while the first drive came up at ata100. reverse the drives, no change. reverse the cables, no change. reverse the drive/cable combo in the ide connectors, no change. no drive setting changes anything. i think i have effectively eliminated the drives and cables. i lived with it.
i recently replaced the board, went to a dragon kt400 plat, and low and behold, same issue. most recent bios updates, highpoint drivers and such, it just doesn't make sense...
i think i've eliminated every thing but possibly a highpoint problem, but if i'm the only one with the issue, that ain't likely either.
i would be gratefull for anyone's input, give it a thought, thanks zz
