raid issue

i had a system running raid0 with an onboard hpt370 chip. the board is sent back in rma and is taking forever to come back. however i need the data on the drives, but the only stock raid equipment i have are running promise chips and promise pci cards. what are the hopes of getting the array to function as it did. and will trying and failing result in any loss of data?
 
I've tried a few times switch chipsets with the same thought and no success, even lost data, so I would leave it alone unless you have it backed up.
