Hey all,
Have a problem I'm hoping you all can help me with.
Here's my specs:
P4 1.7
512mb pc800
Primary master: 24x Plextor
Primary slave: 48x Lite-on
Secondary master: 20GB WD 7200 ata100
Secondary slave: 30GB Maxtor 7200 ata100
Maxtor ata133 pci HD controller card w/ Maxtor 160GB 5400 ata133
SB Audigy
GeForce3 TI200
Highpoint 370 pci RAID controller w/ (2) 40GB Maxtor RAID 1
ATI TV VE pci
Here's my problem: I religiously use Drive Image 2002. When I installed the RAID controller, Drive Image reports my partition tables are now screwed up and it won't run. I get the same message from partition magic 7. If I pull out the card they run fine....it seems to only happen when drives are attached to the raid controller. I am able to access all the data on the drives attached to the raid controller, but have to unplug them to run drive image.
Next I installed Windows XP SP1 (actually I formatted my computer and installed everything from scratch along with SP1), and now the latest drivers from Highpoint's website can't even be installed....I get an error saying "a driver entry is missing a necessary entry.....this may be because the INF was written for windows 95 or later". I used those exact same drivers before installing SP1 and it worked fine (other than the partition issue). I can only assume sp1 will require updated drivers from the manufacturer?
Do you have any idea why those programs would report a corrupt partition table when its installed (the raid work(ed), just couldn't run Drive image or partition magic)? Any idea why I cannot now install those same drivers with sp1 (I assume thats the problem)?
