Raid, is it worth it?

I just got an Ultra 66 and hacked to fast track, but after reading AT article on raid I am wondering if it is worth the trouble to build an array. I have one 30 gig in current setup and would need another drive to stripe.

I don't know if I need to start with fresh format or if there is a way to build array with existing data on one drive?

If I could convert without losing all my data it might be worth it, How much of a real world performance increase do you get? I mainly game and surf at home.
 
You would have to reformat and reinstall, unless( and don't quote me on this,c ause I am not sure) but you may be able to ghost or image your hard drive, set up the array and then put your image on the array, but not sure that will work. The differance is not huge, you will prolly notice it, but not major.
