hey Guys, I have a 2 raid mirror setup with seagate SCSI drives where I gotta rip one out to do data recovery on it. I was wondering whether i need to have another seagate 300 drive...

I've got a maxtor SCSI 300GB, but I'm not sure whether its good to replace the drive, being that their diff manufacturers.

Please let me know of any problems I might run into, or any horror stories you have about mismatching drives.

It is generally best practice to stick with the exact same hard drive when using Raid. However, you might able to get away with it should the specs be exactly the same. Otherwise I would try to replace the dead drive. Is it under warranty still?
