I have a LSI Logic MegaRAID SATA 150-6 that I think is crapping out on me. It periodically will decide that it can't detect one or two of the physical drives in the array. When it detects all the drives, all is well.

My question is:

Would I be able to replace the controller without having to reinitialize the array and lose all the data on the logical disk?
 
if you do a direct replace and they are setup the exact same way you should not have to reinitialize the array as long as all the settings are the same.....
