RAID failed drive?

Is it possible to tell if one drive in a RAID setup has failed or is on its way out? This RAID setup never worked very well (as in score of running sisoft sandra benchmark), it usually scored just a tad higher than 1 7200rpm drive. The drives are 30GB maxtor 7200rpm running in RAID 0 on an Asus a7v133. Lately I have been having a lot of problems with it (like not booting, or some files not found when starting some services, random crashes). I tried a reformat but still the same problems. Any help? Thanks in advance

You can use the Promise Fastcheck utility to run some basic diagnostics and that sort of thing through Windows. You can grab it here.
