RAID error on Mac pro

I have 2 intel Mac pros in my work place setup not using a RAID. The OS is on one drive and the other is a scratch disk for projects.

Recently both computers have given this error.

"Question: Why am I receiving a warning "The Apple RAID Card installed in your system requires your attention" after rebooting?"

Given that they are not setup in a RAID formation should I even be worried? My assumption is now. I have gone ahead and cleared the alerts and it doesn't bother the users anymore.

Are the drives being used on the controller even in JBOD, I'd look into why that message comes up. If not I'd just remove the controller.

No. If I remove the scratch disk the other will continue to function just fine since it houses the OS.

But are either of them physically connected to the RAID controller?

Possibly. I didn't actively go in and change that. From what it looks like they just slide into 1 of the 4 available slots.

You might want to look because if that's the case it could be just configured as JBOD and it might be reporting a real problem.

after talking with apple and looking at the RAID Utility it looks like this was caused by a battery refresh that gets done roughly every 3 months. I'll post some screenshots and links to info later.
