I had 2 hard disks striped in a RAID 0 array. One of the disks has failed. ( My highpoint controller lists it as "Broken"). The disk still lights up when i power up, and it still whirrs, but I cannot boot with it.

What are my data recovery options? and which companies are good?

thanks

Who makes your hard drive? Contact the drive's manufacturer and pose the question to them. If you use their suggested company then I think they'll still RMA the drive for you afterwards.

Recovering data from a RAID0 sounds like a pretty advanced task, so you may want to evaluate whether the lost data is worth ? $1000+ ? to recover.

I had that problem recently and just deleted and then set up the raid stuff again in the boot up sequence on my hacked Promise controller. I didn't lose any data.

if you delete the raid and set it up again. won't the data be lost? care to elaborate on this?
