RAID doesn't work - help! (solved)

I just installed a new RAID card (the one from compgeeks, seen here). The card is correctly recognized in windows. I hooked up 2 brand new 80gig maxtors to it. The RAID setup sees them fine, but windows didn't. I then connected them to the mobo header and used the maxtor utilities to format them. Windows could then see them fine. Shut back down, reconnect them to the RAID card (both as master drives, using both channels on the card). Again, the card setup sees them, windows doesn't. HELP! I need these for some massive video editing next week 🙂

The computer:
Dell 8250
2.4 ghz p4, 512 meg pc1066 rdram
WinXP home
40 gig IBM as primary master (C🙂
80 gig maxtor as primary slave (D🙂
dvd-rom as secondary master (E🙂
cdrw as secondary slave (F🙂

What am I missing here to get this array working?

Did you install the software? I believe you have to install their utility to set everything up - Medley or something like that.

I take it you're using XP. And if you're video editing, they're in a RAID 0. Are you looking for them in explorer? Or, have you looked in Disk Manager?

Confusing. Did you format them as individual drives? Then they are not formatted as a RAID drive. You have to format with them on the RAID connection and after any RAID drivers are installed.

Thanks guys - it's working now. I forgot to go into the disk manager and partition/format it. Duh!
