Raid controller question...

My current system has an Abit KT7 Raid Mobo which I am utilizing the raid feature on. However I am upgrading to a new PC that does not have raid on the MOBO, is there anyway I could buy a Raid controller card and keep everything on the drives? If so is there anything special I need to do? Right now they are striped. Is this possible or is this a lost cause to try?
 
If the new controller uses the same chipset as the current controller, but no guarantees. I once (the only time I tried) successfully made the switch to a new MB (different manufacturer) that had the same on-board controller. Bear in mind an on-board controller may be treated differently than an add-in one. Good luck!
