I could not get that setup to work, so I gave up and just ran raptors. When I have my IDE drive in there the system just hangs.

If you do not understand how to run raid without "live" help, you really shouldent be setting it up.

I would suggest using the Nvraid controller. Plug the two raptors into the SATA1 and SATA2 ports

First make the raid driver diskette from the moterboard CD. Then under Onboard device configuration in bios go into the NVraid section. Enable NVraid and enable sata1 and sata2,. Exit bios and hit F10 to enter the raid setup utility. You should see your two drives on the left panel, select each drive and move to the right panel, select your raid type 0=striping 1=mirroring, then hit F7 to create the array. On the next screen hit B to change the bootable indicator to yes. Ctrl-X to exit the raid setup, at the first opportunity reboot and go back into bios. Go to the boot priority section in bios, and set the order as 1. CD and 2 Harddrive. Under the same sections click on hard drives, and make sure the raid array is listed first.

Put the windows CD in and exit bios. When windows setup gives you the option hit "F6" to load third party raid drivers. When it prompts you input the diskette that you made from the mobo CD. There are two files that need to be loaded from the diskette "NVraid driver" and "SATA controller driver", hit s and select the first one then enter, hit s again and select the second one then enter. Now both drivers should be showing on the top of the page. Hit enter and windows will continue setup. When it asks where you want to install windows, choose the array which should show as unpartitioned space. Format and finish installing windows.

I have the same setup with 2 raptors in raid0 and a 3rd ide. So if you need more help PM me.

i have no floppy or cd in the drives. and the bios does not detect the 2 raptor drives

Did you make sure to move the raid array up in the boot order list?

I had this problem also, when I was running the 1002 bios. It seemed everytime I installed apps or drivers and rebooted, I would lose the raid array. To fix it just pop the windows CD back in and boot, hit F6 reinstall the drivers, but when it gets to the format/install part hit F3 to exit setup and reboot. This happened so much that for several days I keep the raid driver diskette in the floppy at all times. Once I updated to 1003.05 this only happened a couple of times (always after installing drivers). I haven't had this problem for over three weeks now, but I haven't installed many new device drivers either. This is definately a buggy bios issue or an SP2 issue, that will be addressed eventually.
