Raid array keeps dying.

I'm using a raid controller with the SIL 3132 chip and one drive keeps dying in the array. It'll be fine for a few days, and then I'll look at it and the software that came with the card which monitors the array says that an "event" occurred and now instead of having two drives in a healthy configuration, one is instead orphaned and the other is up. I then have to delete the orphaned drive and rebuild the array.

I've got three identical WD SATA hard drives that i'm using, and at first I thought it was a bad drive, but it seems to do it regardless of how many drives are working. Anyone know what this might be?

I don't have a specific answer for you but I would do the following.

See if there is a firmware update for the card.

See if there is a driver update for the card.

Both of the above may need to be done in conjuction with each other as well as the monitoring app.

Try a different slot, PCI I assume?

I'm a little confused on the troubleshooting. Have you swapped the drives to different ports to try to isolate it to one drive?

As I said, I don't honestly know if any of these are the "fix". It's just what I would try.
