Hello,
I just assembled a small file server, and used a asus m2n-e board, with the nvidia nforce 570 controller.
Have 4 sata disks connected, and wanted to try out raid 5 configuration. But I?m very confused at the moment. I have no option to choose raid 5. Only mirror and stripe.
I can see all 4 disks in mediashild.
Why in the world have I no raid 5?

You have to turn on raid in the normal bios in advanced features and mark which channels the drives are on. It is retarded.

The feature might not be shown as an option in the Windows RAID utility, but should be visible in the BIOS setup assuming it's supported by the particular board and chipset.

In addition, NVRAID 5 has had write performance problems in most configurations. I suggest trying 3 drives with a 32k stripe size, or 5 drives with a 16k stripe size. You could also try smaller stripe sizes -- e.g. 16k for 3 drives.

E.g. ATTO test of NV RAID - 3 drives 32k stripe size
