Raid 5 on nForce 570 or 590

I've been reading a bit on raid setups lately. One thing I wanted to know is what people's experience with raid 5 on a nForce 570 or 590 chipset.

It seems to me like it would make for a decent NAS since there are 6 SATA ports and gigabit ethernet ports both of which are not limited by the PCI bus.

I'd be very pleasantly surprised if these turned out to have good RAID 5 write performance. Anyone can do "bleh" RAID 5 write performance, and most do.

With 6 slots, and NVRAID, you can also use RAID 0+1. This is not storage efficient, but is redundant, and would probably beat the vast majority of consumer RAID 5 implementations in performance.

Of course, if you don't care for performance (esp. write; perhaps your data accumulation / editing isn't frequent), you could use those slots instead for greater storage efficiency using RAID 5.
