We have a T300 server at work that I just rebuilt to run Raid 10 and 4 drives. When we initially got it, I was using Dell Open Manage Administrator 6.2 to check on the hardware health and raid health. It worked fine.
For the rebuild, I downloaded 6.5 off of dell's site. Everytime I install it, it shuts down the NICs. I talked to dell support, and they thought it was a NIC firmware issue. After I updated that, it still did it. When I remove the software, everything works again.
I was never impressed with that software anywhere, so I'd like to find a 3rd party monitoring software that will report Raid and Disk health.
Any recommendations? I tried HD Sentinel briefly and it seems promising.
