I want to set up a Raid 1 with an existing drive. I am going to get an identical Drive and a Raid Card. My question is can I do this without losing all of the data I currently have and have it mirror to the new drive.
Does anyone know the answer to this ? I have the exact same question.
Will Raid 1 build the image from the existing data or do we have to reformat and start from scratch ?
Yes, every raid controller I've seen has an option to take a drive with data, create a copy of it on a second drive and continue on with raid 1 functionality after that point.
