RAID 1 Showing Outdated Files & Folders Per Finder & Spot Checking

I’ve been using a LaCie2big with two 4TB drives configured as RAID 1 for several years, now connected to a new iMac with High Sierra. I've been modifying files and folders without issues until yesterday. The most recent Date Modified should be October 22. Now, all of a sudden, all files and folders appear how they were as of sometime in January 2018, per the Finder's Date Modified and per spot checking.

I now know from Disc Utility that one drive has failed. But the LaCie2big still mounts and allows me to read and write data. This doesn't make much sense to me. The only explanation that makes any sense at all to me is that only one of the two drives has been updating since January 2018, and now for some reason, I am accessing data on the drive that has not been updated.

Is this possible, and if so, please advise.
