Raid 1 on a game rig

I have a lot of digital photography, music and data that I'd like to keep backed up on a mirrored (raid 1) drive, but I'm wondering if there is a big performance hit suffered while playing games in a RAID configuration. Like many people, I'm building a new rig for the DM 3 and HL 2 releases. I'm going with an Abit AV8 K8T800 Pro, Athlon 64 3500+ (939), a pair of seagate 160MB SATA drives, video card TBD. I wouldn't want to miss out on a few FPSs. :)

HDD's shouldn't be used too much DURING gaming, but they will be used for loading (RAID-0 will decrease load times).
I doubt it would make much differene in game, and if you have a hardware RAID controller, it is almost certain to make no difference.
With the rest of the system, a few fps shouldn't matter anyway :)
